When you receive a call, it’s not immediately clear whether the call is coming in on your personal phone or on your landline. You can now manage this yourself with 3 different display settings:

  • Display your landline number (default setting)

  • Display the caller’s number

  • Display the caller's number with advance notice

We’ll walk you through the steps on how to set it up:

  1. How do I set up caller ID in My Rinkel (computer)?

  2. How do I set up caller ID in the My Rinkel app (iPhone)?

  3. How do I set up caller ID in the My Rinkel app (Android)?

1. How do I set up caller ID in My Rinkel (computer)?

  1. Go to My Rinkel and click on the cogwheel in front of your number

  2. Under "Caller ID", you can select "Caller" or "Rinkel nr". When you select "Caller" you will see the number of the caller on your phone when receiving a call on your mobile phone. So, you will not immediately know this is a call on your Rinkel number. When you select "Rinkel nr", which is the default option, you will just see the Rinkel number on your mobile phone when receiving a call. You will immediately now this is a call on a business call.

  3. I you have selected the "Caller" option as your caller ID, you will get the option to let you hear an announcement when you pick up the phone. This announcement will let you know, that this call is forwarded from your Rinkel number to you. The caller will not hear this. This way, you will still know this is a business call, just after you pick up instead of before, as is the case when you use the "Rinkel nr" caller ID option.

  4. Save your changes

Please note: The settings are settings per number, not per user. So changes made here will be applied to all users.

2. How do I set up caller ID in the My Rinkel app (iPhone)?

  1. Open the My Rinkel app on your phone

  2. Select "Settings" at the bottom right

  3. Go to "Preferences" and click on "Caller ID"

  4. Select your own Rinkel number or caller number

Have you selected caller ID and want to hear an advance notice? Then choose caller ID “with advance notice”. With advance notice, you first hear an audio recording when the call is coming from your landline. With this setting, you know exactly when you’re receiving a business call! Good to know:

  • The caller does not hear this message (they only hear the call tone until you pick up)

  • You know exactly when to pick up with your company name

  • When you receive personal calls, you will not hear an audio message

Please note: the changes you make apply to every user of the landline number.

3. How do I set up caller ID in the My Rinkel app (Android)?

  1. Open the My Rinkel app

  2. In the menu at the top left, select Preferences

  3. Click on Caller ID

  4. Select your own Rinkel number or caller number
