We explain how to request a German phone number in this article:

Please note that we do not supply national phone numbers from Germany (as you are used to with the Dutch 085 numbers). Only regional numbers.

From which regions can I request a German phone number?

We always have phone numbers available from all metropolitan areas in Germany. These include Berlin, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Frankfurt and Munich.

Want to be sure first that we can supply a phone number from your chosen region? Chat with us using the button on the bottom right or e-mail us via [email protected].

What are the legal requirements for getting a German phone number?

The German government has stipulated that you must have a presence in the region of the phone number you are requesting. That means we have to register the telephone number at a particular address.

In addition, active German phone numbers must be registered under an individual person or company. This means that it is mandatory for the end user to have a physical presence within the region of the phone number.

What type of identification is required?

If you want to request a German phone number as an individual:

  • Address details (corresponding to the region in which you are requesting the phone number);

  • The ID card of an individual employee that includes a photo and an address in the region.

If you want to request a German phone number as a company (business):

  • Address details (corresponding to the region in which you are requesting the phone number);

  • A company identification document showing the registered address (e.g. an excerpt from the German Trade Register, the constitutional documents or other similar documentation).
